Advertising Week 2023
Advertising Week 2023. I have three sessions that I absolutely need to highlight from this year's event. Two of which were pertinent toward face-to-face interactions and experiential marketing. The other highlights the transition to understand more authentically the younger generation.
Going Live: Harnessing the Power of Face to Face Interactions to Deliver the Highest ROI in Your Marketing Budget.
Moderated by Barton Crockett
- Panelists include Alicia Tillman Hervé S. Jan Heck
- Alicia is someone I have looked up to in the marketing world since I met her at the 2019 Advertising Week event. And since, seeing how much she has done for brands like SAP and Delta Air Lines. Thank you for the quick chat after the session as well!
- A key component of this session was the insights shared into how face-to-face is a growing business. All the panelists discussed that experiential and events are the leading medium for sales/lead gen, and encompass the broader picture of marketing and advertising as a holistic approach. Check out the graphs in the pics to confirm the data.
Experiential Grows Up
- I am not sure how to feel about this session...it was truly experiential and captured what makes our field so fascinating. Starting out to be moderated by the wonderful Erica Boeke, it was (scripted of course) handed off in an interactive way to each of the other panelists, including SEPHORA Jessica Stacey Netflix Greg Lombardo AREA15 Dan Pelson Benjamin Von Wong and a surprise visit from Beyonce's violinist.
- As anything to do with experiential, you had to be there to truly capture the experience of itself, however, one piece that stood out was the question "Why Does Experiential Matter?"
Answer: Experiential has become steadily more important post-covid and is bridging the digital, physical, and virtual worlds.
Changemakers Conversation: “Gen Z and Their CMO Parents” with a full house at hashtag#AWNewYork23 for The Marketing Society
Beautifully moderated by Margaret Molloy 🙋♀️, this session was actually one of my favorites that I have seen because of how pure and genuine it was. Panelists include Vince Hudson Catherine Newman Michelle Froah.
- What made this special was every one of these professionals had their kids come on stage and talk about how brands are connecting with Gen Z as well as some insight shared into what is on the horizon.
- They all had individual interests and yet had a common thread - community, inclusion, and authenticity.
Thank you to all the sessions and speakers, and a true pleasure to meet with these folks even briefly to know how important it is to provide an experience to someone, whether it be consumers, attendees, Gen Z, leaders, CMOs, anyone, and everyone else!
